Angel Reese might be one of the most criticized players in basketball.
But eventually, you have to acknowledge what she’s actually doing on the court.
Reese is averaging 16.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game during her first season with the Atlanta Dream. She’s also already broken WNBA records for rebounds in a single game, rebounds in a season and double-doubles in a season.
She even won Eastern Conference Player of the Week in consecutive weeks before leaving Atlanta to represent Team USA at the World Cup.
And now she’s contributing for the United States, including nine points, six rebounds and three assists in its 108-56 quarterfinal win over Hungary.
You don’t have to love Angel Reese.
You don’t even have to believe she’s one of the best players in the WNBA.
But the idea that she can’t play basketball is becoming harder and harder to defend.
Reese has turned herself into a legitimate star in Atlanta.
And she’s only 24.
