Angel Reese has built a career around winning, from LSU’s national championship to dominating the WNBA Finals. So why does she still get so much hate?
At what point are people finally going to give Angel Reese the respect she deserves?
Seriously, all this woman has done throughout her basketball career is win, yet somehow, she remains one of the most criticized athletes in professional sports.
And her résumé speaks for itself.
Reese helped lead LSU to a national championship in 2023, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors. She then entered the WNBA and immediately established herself as one of the league’s most dominant rebounders.
Now, with the Atlanta Dream competing for a WNBA championship, Reese is once again delivering when the lights are brightest.
Through three games of the Finals, she’s averaging an incredible 21.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals, while shooting 56.4% from the field.
Those aren’t just good numbers. Those are superstar numbers.
And yet, the criticism never seems to stop.
Whether it’s her confidence, celebrations, or rivalry with Caitlin Clark, Reese has constantly found herself under a microscope. Critics have questioned her offensive abilities and whether her game could translate into team success at the highest level.
But everywhere Reese goes, she seems to find herself competing for championships.
She’s already conquered college basketball, and now she’s attempting to add a WNBA title to her résumé.
For someone who gets labeled overrated so frequently, Reese has an interesting habit of showing up on basketball’s biggest stages.
At some point, the conversation needs to change. Angel Reese isn’t just a social media personality or a controversial basketball player. She’s a winner.
And if she helps bring Atlanta its first WNBA championship, what excuse will her critics have left?
