Extended skid leaves Anaheim searching for traction and consistency

The Anaheim Ducks’ season has reached a troubling point, with persistent problems continuing to derail progress.

Anaheim is now 2-13 over its last 15 games, a prolonged slide that has stalled momentum and dropped the Ducks further down the standings. The Ducks have gone winless during that stretch, with repeated breakdowns turning manageable games into uphill battles.

Slow starts remain a persistent problem. Anaheim has frequently allowed early goals, forcing the Ducks to chase play rather than dictate it. Defensive-zone lapses, missed assignments and turnovers have given opponents quality chances and early control.

Offensive production has followed a similar pattern. Anaheim has struggled to generate sustained pressure at even strength, producing chances in flashes rather than consistent stretches. When deficits appear, goals have been difficult to find, leaving little margin for recovery.

Goaltending has faced constant pressure. Extended time spent in the defensive zone has led to high-danger looks, and even strong efforts in net have been undercut by limited scoring support.

Special teams have failed to shift momentum. The power play has not capitalized on key opportunities, and the penalty kill has allowed goals that halt any push back into games.

Anaheim’s young roster continues to show promise, but consistency remains elusive. As the losses accumulate, frustration has become more evident and confidence harder to sustain.

The Ducks now face a defining stretch that will shape the direction of their season. Without sharper execution, cleaner starts and improved discipline, this skid risks becoming the story of the year rather than a setback they can overcome.
