President Donald Trump takes his feud with LeBron James to another level, mocking the NBA superstar’s national anthem behavior during an Iowa rally.
President Donald Trump is absolutely not letting LeBron James off the hook.
Just hours after blasting the NBA superstar on Truth Social for his behavior during the national anthem, Trump doubled down during a Thursday night rally in Sioux City, Iowa.
And this time, the president even mocked LeBron’s golf swing in front of the crowd.
“What about LeBron James? Did you see that deal?” Trump asked before imitating the four-time NBA champion’s movements.
Trump questioned why James appeared to be practicing his golf swing during the national anthem, asking, “What the hell is that?”
He went on to describe the situation as a major scandal, making it clear that he wasn’t impressed with what he saw.
The controversy began Tuesday night when James was spotted making swinging motions and going through a basketball shooting routine while the national anthem played before Philadelphia’s matchup against the New York Knicks.
While some fans believe James was simply stretching, others have criticized the 41-year-old for failing to stand still during a moment intended to honor the country.
But LeBron doesn’t seem particularly concerned about the president’s criticism.
When asked about Trump’s comments following Philadelphia’s victory over Cleveland on Thursday, James laughed off the controversy, saying it must have been a slow news day.
The two have exchanged criticism for years, but this latest confrontation has brought their rivalry right back into the national spotlight.
And with Trump now publicly mocking LeBron at rallies, what started as a few questionable pregame movements has turned into one of the NBA’s biggest off-court stories of the week.
The question now is whether LeBron will continue brushing off the criticism or finally respond directly to the president.
