New videos of Tiger Woods swinging a golf club have sparked major comeback speculation. Could the 15-time major champion finally be returning?
Tiger Woods might not be finished just yet.
The 15-time major champion has golf fans buzzing after new videos surfaced showing him hitting golf balls during an exhibition at the TGR Junior Invitational at Pebble Beach.
And surprisingly, the 50-year-old looked pretty darn good.
Woods was seen hitting several smooth iron shots, showing off a swing that looked remarkably comfortable considering everything his body has endured over the past several years.
It’s been more than two years since Woods last competed in a professional golf tournament, with his most recent appearance coming at the 2024 Open Championship. Since then, injuries, surgeries and personal challenges have kept one of golf’s greatest players away from competition.
But these latest videos have brought back a familiar question: Are we about to witness another Tiger Woods comeback?
There are several potential opportunities for Woods to return. The Hero World Challenge in December could provide a relatively low-pressure environment, while the PNC Championship later that month could allow him to compete alongside his son, Charlie.
If neither happens, the 2027 Genesis Invitational or even the Masters could become potential comeback destinations.
Of course, hitting a few impressive shots on the driving range is completely different from walking 72 holes against the world’s best players. Woods has battled serious physical limitations, and there is still no official timetable for his return.
However, one thing remains undeniable. Nobody moves the needle in golf quite like Tiger Woods.
At 50 years old, nobody should expect him to dominate the PGA Tour like he once did. But if there’s one golfer who has repeatedly defied expectations, it’s Tiger.
The golf world doesn’t need Tiger Woods to win another major. It just wants to see him compete one more time.
