Free agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill delivered a concerning update on his recovery Thursday, revealing he still has “no power” in his surgically repaired left leg nearly 10 months after suffering a devastating knee injury.
In a workout video documenting his rehab, Hill said the biggest challenge isn’t pain—it’s getting the strength back.
“I have no power in my left leg at all. So I’m trying to regain all the power back.”
Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments last September, injuries that required two surgeries. Doctors initially warned the eight-time Pro Bowler that simply walking normally again could be difficult. While Hill has progressed to running, jumping and strength training, he admitted he’s still far from the explosive player who earned the nickname “Cheetah.”
The timing of the update is significant. NFL training camps are opening around the league, but Hill remains unsigned after being released by the Miami Dolphins earlier this year. His speed has always been his greatest weapon, making his admission about lacking power in his left leg particularly notable.
Hill has remained optimistic throughout the rehabilitation process and says he plans to begin sprinting again in the coming weeks. Still, his latest comments underscore that his road back to the NFL remains a work in progress, with no clear timetable for a return.
