This series just got a lot more interesting.

Earlier it looked like the Timberwolves might be in serious trouble, but now Anthony Edwards is expected to play — and that completely changes the tone of this matchup. Minnesota now has its superstar, its identity, and its confidence back heading into a clash with the rising San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, have been one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. Wembanyama’s ability to dominate both ends makes San Antonio incredibly tough to game plan for. He protects the rim like a veteran center while also stretching defenses offensively.

But with Edwards on the floor, Minnesota can actually fight back.

Ant is one of the few players in the league who can take over a playoff game. His athleticism, scoring ability, and confidence give the Wolves a real shot in this series. The problem? Consistency. Outside of Edwards, Minnesota can struggle to generate offense, especially against a Spurs defense that thrives on length and disruption.

San Antonio still has the edge in depth, versatility, and defensive discipline. They can throw multiple bodies at Edwards and force others to beat them — something Minnesota hasn’t proven they can do consistently.

How Spurs win: Depth, defensive versatility, Wemby dominance
How Timberwolves win: Edwards takes over games and gets help

This won’t be easy anymore — but San Antonio still feels like the better team.

Prediction: Spurs in 6
