The Baltimore Ravens have signed veteran edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract, the team confirmed this week, adding one of the NFL’s most productive pass rushers to a defense looking to strengthen its front seven.
The deal includes $60 million guaranteed and comes shortly after Baltimore backed out of a proposed trade for Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders when the star defender failed his physical.
Hendrickson, who spent the previous four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, has been one of the league’s most consistent pass rushers in recent years. The 31-year-old earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2024 after leading the NFL with 17.5 sacks and recording multiple multi-sack performances during the season.
Baltimore pivoted quickly to Hendrickson after the Crosby deal fell apart, choosing to spend cap space rather than surrender draft capital. Reports indicated the original trade would have cost the Ravens two first-round picks.
Hendrickson now joins a Ravens defense that has long relied on aggressive pass rushing and creative blitz packages. His addition gives Baltimore a proven edge threat capable of pressuring opposing quarterbacks and changing games off the edge.
The move also adds a new wrinkle to the AFC North rivalry. After years of facing Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson while in Cincinnati, Hendrickson will now line up against his former teammates — including Joe Burrow — twice each season.
For Baltimore, the signing represents both a pivot and a statement: even after a high-profile trade fell apart, the Ravens still landed one of the league’s top pass rushers to anchor their defense moving forward.
