BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of a reported trade for star defensive end Maxx Crosby, bringing a sudden end to what had briefly appeared to be one of the biggest potential moves of the NFL offseason.
Multiple reports earlier suggested the Ravens were working toward acquiring Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders, a move that would have dramatically strengthened Baltimore’s pass rush. However, the deal ultimately fell apart before it could be finalized, leaving Crosby in Las Vegas and the Ravens still searching for ways to bolster their defensive front.
Crosby, a two-time All-Pro and one of the league’s premier edge rushers, has been the centerpiece of the Raiders’ defense since being drafted in 2019. The 28-year-old has consistently ranked among the NFL leaders in pressures and sacks, making him a coveted target for teams looking to upgrade their pass rush.
While the Ravens remain in the market for defensive help, the collapse of the Crosby deal means one of the most impactful defensive players potentially available will stay with the Raiders — at least for now.
