Le Mans, France – Sunday, the AF Corse Ferrari took the checkered flag in the French countryside to capture the third-straight Le Mans title for the prancing horse. However, the win came as a bit of a surprise, as the yellow independent No. 83 Ferrari beat out its two factory counterparts in the No. 50 and No. 51 respectively.
The Ferrari factory cars suffered penalties in the overnight stint, in addition to a few spins late in the event. The No. 6 Penske Porsche put together a remarkable late charge to swipe second from the factory teammates, denying Ferrari a 1-2-3 podium sweep.
For a while, it looked as though Ferrari would lock out the podium. However, key mistakes enabled the Porsche Penske car to stun the factory duo, joining the No. 83 yellow AF Corse Ferrari on the podium, alongside the No. 51 factory prancing horse.
Le Mans featured midnight bunny rabbit incidents, drunken fans, fireworks, several spins and more!
