Lions release Terrion Arnold following Monday bond hearing
The Detroit Lions have released cornerback Terrion Arnold, the organization announced Monday, hours after a Florida judge granted the former first-round draft pick a $1 million bond in his ongoing kidnapping and armed robbery case.
Arnold, 23, had been held without bond since his arrest last week before appearing in Hillsborough County court Monday. Although prosecutors sought to keep him jailed pending trial, the judge denied that request and instead approved a $1 million bond with several conditions, including surrendering his passport and avoiding contact with co-defendants and witnesses.
Despite Arnold being granted release, the Lions elected to part ways with the former Alabama standout, who was selected 24th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. The team did not provide additional comment beyond announcing the move.
Arnold faces multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged February kidnapping and armed robbery in the Tampa area. Prosecutors allege he orchestrated a retaliatory plot against three men he believed had stolen cash and luxury items from him. Arnold has pleaded not guilty, and his attorney has maintained that there is no credible evidence placing him at the scene of the alleged crimes.
Arnold appeared in 24 games over two seasons with Detroit after earning All-American honors at Alabama before entering the NFL. His legal case remains ongoing.
