The 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament begins Tuesday at Truist Field in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing all 16 league teams into a single-elimination format with an automatic NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
The event runs May 19–24 and airs on ACC Network through the early rounds and ESPN+ streaming throughout the tournament. ESPN2 will carry Sunday’s championship game at noon ET.
Truist Field, home of the Charlotte Knights, hosts the tournament and provides a major-league setting for one of college baseball’s deepest conference fields. The ACC has used the venue multiple times in recent years, and it continues to serve as a central stage for postseason play in Charlotte.
All 16 teams qualify for the bracket, with seeds determining the path through the tournament. Top seeds receive byes, while lower seeds open play immediately in elimination games. The format rewards regular-season success but still allows for early chaos and upsets.
That chaos already started Tuesday morning, when No. 16 seed Duke beat No. 9 seed NC State 21-12 to open the tournament and advance in the bracket.
The tournament features a straight single-elimination structure, meaning one loss ends a team’s conference title hopes. The winner earns the ACC’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid, while other teams rely on at-large positioning from the selection committee.
ACC Network carries games from Tuesday through Saturday, while ESPN+ streams additional coverage. The championship game moves to ESPN2 on Sunday, giving the title matchup national exposure ahead of Selection Monday.
The ACC once again enters the postseason as one of the deepest conferences in college baseball, with multiple teams expected to push for NCAA Tournament bids depending on how far they advance in Charlotte.
By week’s end, the bracket will determine not only a conference champion but also reshape the national postseason field.
