TALLADEGA, Ala. — Carson Hocevar gave Talladega a finish it won’t forget. Then he turned the celebration into something even bigger.
After the checkered flag at Talladega Superspeedway, Hocevar climbed partially out of his car and kept it moving, balancing himself with nearly his entire body outside the driver’s window — save for one foot still inside. With the car rolling, he pumped up the grandstands, gesturing to fans and feeding off the noise.
It escalated from there.
Hocevar continued the celebration by revving the engine and lighting up the rear tires, spinning the car into multiple burnouts while still elevated outside the cockpit. At one point, he removed his hands from the steering wheel entirely, using momentum and throttle to carry the car through the smoky display.

Steve O’Donnell of NASCAR praised the moment after the race, calling it one of the most memorable celebrations the sport has seen and signaling no issue with the display.
That approval only added to the buzz surrounding Hocevar’s post-race antics.
