The South Carolina Gamecocks continued their strong start to the 2026 season Saturday night, dominating Towson 45-9 at Williams-Brice Stadium.
After opening the season with a 57-0 shutout of Kent State, South Carolina once again took control early and never allowed Towson to seriously threaten the outcome.
Gamecocks Take Control
South Carolina led 7-0 after the first quarter and added 10 more points in the second to take a 17-3 advantage into halftime.
The Gamecocks then completely pulled away after the break, scoring 28 points across the second half while holding Towson to just six points.
South Carolina finished with 502 total yards, averaging an impressive 7.5 yards per play. The Gamecocks were especially dangerous on the ground, producing several explosive runs throughout the night.
Sellers And The Running Game Shine
LaNorris Sellers made his impact with his legs, rushing for 119 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. His 58-yard touchdown run was one of the biggest plays of the night.
Matt Fuller was also outstanding, rushing 11 times for 125 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Augustave added another huge play with a 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
South Carolina’s rushing attack repeatedly found openings, allowing the Gamecocks to finish with a convincing victory despite some struggles through the air.
A Strong Start For South Carolina
The Gamecocks are now 2-0 and have outscored their first two opponents by a combined 102-9.
That is an impressive start for Shane Beamer’s team, which has looked dominant through the opening two weeks.
The competition gets significantly tougher next week, however, when South Carolina begins SEC play against Mississippi State.
After two blowout victories, the Gamecocks have given themselves plenty of momentum heading into their first major test of the season.
