The Milwaukee Brewers put together one of the most dominant performances in franchise history Tuesday night, crushing the Seattle Mariners 22-0 at American Family Field.
Milwaukee’s offense erupted for 22 hits and 22 runs, tying the franchise record for runs in a game. The victory also matched the modern MLB record for the largest shutout margin.
The Brewers broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring five runs, then added five more in the sixth. They continued piling on in the late innings, including a nine-run eighth inning that turned the game into a historic rout. Christian Yelich, David Hamilton, Jake Bauers and Luis Lara all homered, with Hamilton driving in a career-high four runs.
While Milwaukee’s offense stole the spotlight, Kyle Harrison delivered an outstanding performance on the mound. The left hander allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out eight over five scoreless innings to earn his 10th win of the season.
The Mariners managed only five hits and committed four errors as the Brewers dominated from start to finish. Luis Lara’s home run in the eighth inning was his first career homer, adding another memorable moment to an already historic night.
For Milwaukee, it was more than just a win it was a statement performance that put the Brewers in the record books.
