Fourth of July Baseball is Loaded: Here’s What MLB Games to Watch

Fourth of July MLB Watch Guide: America’s Pastime Takes Center Stage on Independence Day

Nothing pairs with the Fourth of July quite like baseball.

All 30 Major League Baseball teams are scheduled to take the field Saturday as the sport once again takes center stage during America’s Independence Day celebration. From morning baseball in the nation’s capital to a late-night showdown in Los Angeles, fans will have games to watch from coast to coast throughout the holiday.

Two historic rivalries headline FOX’s national “Baseball Night in America” doubleheader, while several divisional races continue to heat up as clubs inch closer to the All-Star break.

National spotlight

The evening belongs to two of baseball’s biggest rivalries.

The New York Mets visit the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals travel to Wrigley Field to face the Chicago Cubs, with both games airing nationally on FOX beginning at 8:08 p.m. EDT. Fans can also stream the games on FOX One, the FOX Sports App and participating live TV streaming services that carry FOX.

The night concludes with another marquee matchup as the San Diego Padres visit the Los Angeles Dodgers at 10:10 p.m. EDT. The game airs locally while also serving as Peacock’s featured Game of the Day.

The Mets and Braves renew one of the National League East’s fiercest rivalries under the lights in Atlanta, while the Cardinals and Cubs add another chapter to one of baseball’s oldest rivalries at Wrigley Field.

Later Saturday night, the Padres and Dodgers meet in what could preview another postseason showdown between National League contenders. Earlier in the day, the Yankees host the Twins in a holiday matinee at Yankee Stadium.

A Fourth of July tradition

Baseball and Independence Day have gone hand in hand for generations. Every team is in action Saturday as fans celebrate America’s 250th birthday with packed ballparks, patriotic ceremonies, military flyovers, specialty uniforms and postgame fireworks displays across the country.

Whether you’re spending the day grilling in the backyard, watching fireworks or following the FIFA World Cup, there will be baseball on television from late morning until well past midnight—just the way the Fourth of July should be.
