The Buffalo Bills made one of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason, agreeing to a trade that brings star wide receiver D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears to Buffalo. Another reason the trade makes sense for Buffalo is Moore’s connection with the Bills’ coaching staff. Moore previously played under offensive coordinator Joe Brady during their time together with the Carolina Panthers.
During those seasons, Moore recorded back-to-back 1,100-yard campaigns, showing just how dangerous he can be in Brady’s offensive system.
Now the two reunite in Buffalo, and the Bills hope that chemistry can immediately spark their passing game.
Why the Bears Made the Move
For Chicago, the trade appears to be about roster flexibility and future assets. The Bears have a crowded group of young pass catchers, including rising receivers like Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, which made Moore somewhat expendable.
Moving Moore also frees up valuable salary cap space while adding another high draft pick for the future.
