Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian had a blunt response when asked about former Longhorns wide receiver Parker Livingstone transferring to rival Oklahoma.
“I hope we kick his ass. It’s the Red River Rivalry,” Sarkisian said.
The comment quickly spread across social media, adding another layer of intensity to one of college football’s fiercest rivalries.
Livingstone’s transfer to Oklahoma was already a notable offseason storyline, and Sarkisian made it clear that once players switch sides, friendships take a back seat to winning.
With Texas and Oklahoma now SEC rivals, the annual Red River showdown continues to gain even more significance. Sarkisian’s remarks only added fuel to a rivalry that rarely needs any extra motivation.
