With just over a second remaining, Anunoby tipped in Brunson’s missed shot to give New York its first lead of the final minutes and complete the miracle comeback.
The collapse will haunt San Antonio for years.
After scoring 76 points in the first half, the Spurs managed just 30 points in the entire second half. Missed free throws, costly turnovers, and late-game mistakes from a young roster allowed the Knicks to slowly chip away before exploding in the fourth quarter.
Wembanyama finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds, but even the young superstar could not stop the momentum once the Garden crowd came alive.
For a franchise that has spent decades searching for a championship moment, this may be the game Knicks fans talk about forever. New York now holds a commanding 3-1 series lead, while the Spurs face the daunting task of winning three straight games to keep their title hopes alive.
