Ronald Acuña Jr. Is Starting to Look Like Himself Again

The Atlanta Braves may have finally gotten their superstar back.

After battling injuries for much of the 2026 season, Ronald Acuña Jr. is absolutely on fire right now. The former MVP has exploded over the last four games, crushing five home runs and driving in nine RBIs while reminding the baseball world exactly why he remains one of the most dangerous players on the planet.

And honestly, the timing could not be better for Atlanta.

For weeks, the Braves were trying to survive injuries across the roster. Acuña missed time earlier in the year, Sean Murphy recently went down, and Atlanta has constantly been forced to shuffle lineups. Despite all of that, the Braves still sit near the top of baseball and continue looking like legitimate World Series contenders.

Now Acuña is heating up.

His overall season stats still look modest by his standards — .253 average, seven home runs, 21 RBIs, and an .821 OPS — but those numbers are climbing fast thanks to this recent power surge. Over the last few games, he has looked far more explosive at the plate, driving balls to all fields and bringing energy back into the lineup.

The scary part for the rest of MLB is that Acuña still may not even be fully back yet physically.

When healthy and confident, he changes everything about the Braves offense. Pitchers become more aggressive because they fear him stealing bases. The lineup becomes deeper because everyone around him sees better pitches. And the entire energy of the team shifts when Acuña is playing with swagger.

That is exactly what Atlanta fans are seeing right now.

This recent stretch also comes at an important moment in the season. Summer baseball is approaching, division races are tightening, and contenders are beginning to separate themselves. If Acuña returns to MVP-level form, the Braves immediately become one of the most dangerous teams in baseball again.

And considering Atlanta has already survived injuries while staying competitive, a fully activated Acuña could completely elevate this team entering the second half of the year.

Baseball is simply more entertaining when Ronald Acuña Jr. is healthy, smiling, and launching baseballs into the seats.

The Braves are hoping this is just the beginning.
