SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The final tune-up before The Masters has arrived, and with it comes a wide-open betting board at the Valero Texas Open.
According to odds posted across major sportsbooks, including DraftKings, Tommy Fleetwood and Ludvig Åberg enter the week as co-favorites, generally priced around 14-1 to 15-1.
The lack of a fully loaded field — common for the week before Augusta — has created a rare opportunity for both established names and mid-tier contenders to capitalize. While top players often rest ahead of the year’s first major, the Texas Open still offers a Masters berth to any non-qualified winner, adding urgency across the field.
Fleetwood’s position atop the odds board reflects his recent consistency, including multiple top-10 finishes early in the season, while Åberg continues to draw attention as one of the rising stars on tour.
Just behind the favorites, a crowded second tier includes players such as Jordan Spieth (around 20-1) and Russell Henley, both of whom bring strong course history and familiarity with Texas conditions.
Further down the board, value plays begin to emerge. Names like Maverick McNealy (approximately 25-1) and Brian Harman — the defending champion — offer intrigue, particularly given the demanding nature of TPC San Antonio.
Longshot bettors may find appeal deeper in the field, where players such as Nick Taylor (around 75-1) and veteran Matt Kuchar (triple-digit odds) have been identified as potential sleepers based on course fit and experience.
TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course is known for its difficulty, emphasizing driving accuracy, strong iron play and the ability to manage windy conditions — factors that often level the playing field and open the door for unexpected contenders.
With a more balanced field and fewer elite superstars in attendance, this year’s betting market reflects parity rather than dominance. The result is a tournament where both favorites and longshots carry legitimate paths to contention — and where the line between value and volatility may ultimately define the week.
