LONG BEACH, Calif. — Felix Rosenqvist delivered when it mattered most.
Rosenqvist surged to the pole Saturday for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, laying down a lap of 1:07.4635 to edge Pato O’Ward and Álex Palou in a tight Fast Six shootout.
It didn’t come easy. Palou briefly held the top time before Rosenqvist answered, then survived a final push from O’Ward to secure the top spot.
The front of the grid is loaded. Palou rolls off third and remains one of the most consistent threats in the series, while Kyle Kirkwood starts fourth as the defending race winner at Long Beach.
That sets up a high-stakes showdown on a tight street circuit where track position is everything.
Rosenqvist has the advantage. Kirkwood has the history. Palou has the pace.
On the streets of Long Beach, that combination should make Sunday a fight from the green flag.
