This Offseason Has Turned the Bills Into Super Bowl Favorites

The offseason in the NFL is often about small improvements, cap maneuvering, and depth signings. But the Buffalo Bills appear to be doing something very different this year.

They’re building a Super Bowl roster.

After a series of aggressive moves early in the 2026 offseason, Buffalo may have quietly turned itself into the clear favorite to win Super Bowl LX. With a superstar quarterback already in place and multiple major roster upgrades across the field, the Bills suddenly look like the most complete team in the NFL.

A Major Weapon for Josh Allen

The biggest move of Buffalo’s offseason came when the team acquired wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears.

Moore instantly becomes one of the most dangerous weapons in the offense and gives quarterback Josh Allen another elite playmaker.

For years, Allen has carried one of the league’s most explosive offenses. Adding a receiver with Moore’s ability to create separation and produce after the catch gives Buffalo another dimension.

Defenses already struggled to contain Allen’s deep ball and improvisational style. Now they’ll have to account for a receiver capable of turning short passes into explosive plays.

That combination alone could make Buffalo’s offense one of the most dangerous in football.

Reinforcements on Defense

Buffalo didn’t stop at offense.

The team also signed edge rusher Bradley Chubb, adding another disruptive pass rusher to the defensive front.

Chubb’s presence gives the Bills a legitimate threat off the edge and helps create a more balanced defense capable of pressuring opposing quarterbacks consistently.

They also strengthened the secondary by signing defensive back Dee Alford, giving Buffalo another playmaker in coverage.

Even though the Bills moved on from cornerback Taron Johnson in a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders, the defensive additions show that the front office is prioritizing both pressure and coverage heading into next season.

Smart Cap Management

Championship teams are built not only through big moves but also through smart financial management.

Buffalo created significant salary cap flexibility by restructuring the contract of quarterback Josh Allen, a move that reportedly saved around $12 million. The team also adjusted deals for several other veterans to maintain flexibility.

Those moves allowed Buffalo to add talent while keeping the core of the roster intact.

Instead of entering the offseason in survival mode like many contenders, the Bills have managed to upgrade their roster while maintaining long-term stability.

The AFC’s Team to Beat?

For years, Buffalo has been close to breaking through in the AFC but has fallen just short of a championship run.

This offseason feels different.

The combination of Josh Allen’s MVP-level talent, a new elite receiving option in DJ Moore, defensive reinforcements like Bradley Chubb, and strong roster management suggests the Bills are entering 2026 with the most complete roster they’ve had in years.

If the chemistry comes together the way Buffalo hopes, the rest of the NFL could be chasing them all season.

And after the moves they’ve made so far this offseason, it’s becoming harder to argue that anyone else should be considered the favorite to win the Super Bowl.
