You will not find too many TGL fans roaming the streets. You probably cannot even find them at the water cooler at work. Those of you who are serious golf junkies, however, this is for you.
The TGL postseason this year is absolutely the best in league history (2025 is literally the only other postseason, so take that with a grain of salt).
Anybody who followed along all year knows that Jupiter was down and out a month ago. LA was in the driver’s seat. While the best team, LA, did make the finals, they were met by a feisty and resilient club.
Jupiter rallied late in the season and they managed to make the finals. Was their body of work better than Atlanta or Boston or even NY? No, but they got hot.
Monday night they played in one of the most competitive matches in league history (again, this league is only in its second year). It actually seemed like the team of destiny might pull off the upset and take the series lead. The LA roster, however, led by Justin Rose, was too much to overtake.
Anytime you put Tommy Fleetwood, Sahith Theegala, and Justin Rose on the same team, the opposition should start shaking. Although they got off to a rocky start on Monday, they rebounded and showed the golf world why they were the top seed.
This series is not over though. Jupiter is reaching into their bag and pulling out an ace. You may not have seen him all year, but Tiger Woods has been quietly sitting on the Jupiter bench (as well as literally running the day-to-day TGL operations).
Tiger is healthy and has subbed in for Tuesday night’s do-or-die match. Expect high drama in Palm Beach this week because this championship series is going the distance.
