The Charlotte Hornets might officially be the hottest team in basketball right now.
Charlotte crushed the Boston Celtics 118–89 on the road Wednesday night, extending their winning streak to six straight games — all by at least 15 points. That type of dominance is rare in today’s NBA. In fact, it’s the longest streak of 15+ point wins since the 2017–18 Golden State Warriors, a championship-caliber squad that featured Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson.
With the victory, Charlotte improves to 32–31 and moves above .500 while continuing one of the most surprising surges of the NBA season.
Kon Kneuppel Leads the Way
Rookie sensation Kon Kneuppel delivered another strong performance, scoring 20 points while shooting efficiently and helping the Hornets control the game from start to finish.
The Hornets offense was balanced all night:
- Brandon Miller – 18 points
- LaMelo Ball – 18 points, 7 rebounds
- Coby White – 17 points off the bench
Charlotte shot 46% from the field and 39% from three, moving the ball beautifully with 26 assists and overwhelming Boston with pace and spacing.
The Lineup That Changed Everything
A huge reason for Charlotte’s surge has been their starting five:
- LaMelo Ball
- Kon Kneuppel
- Brandon Miller
- Miles Bridges
- Moussa Diabaté
That group is now 20–2 this season when starting together, providing a perfect mix of scoring, size, rebounding, and playmaking.
Ball orchestrates the offense, Miller stretches defenses, Kneuppel provides elite shooting, Bridges adds physical scoring, and Diabaté anchors the interior with energy and rebounding.
When they’re all on the floor, Charlotte suddenly looks like a completely different team.
Celtics Never Found Their Rhythm
Boston struggled from the opening tip.
Derrick White led the Celtics with 29 points, while Jaylen Brown added 20 points and 11 rebounds, but the Celtics never found offensive consistency.
Boston shot just 38% from the field and turned the ball over 16 times, allowing Charlotte to run in transition and build a massive lead.
By the fourth quarter, the game was effectively over.
One of the Hottest Runs in the NBA
Charlotte’s current form is remarkable.
The Hornets have now gone 16–3 in their last 19 games, turning a once-struggling season into a legitimate playoff push. The recent six-game stretch has been even more impressive considering the margins:
Every win during the streak has been by 15 points or more, a level of dominance rarely seen during the grind of an NBA regular season.
For a young team built around Ball, Miller, and Kneuppel, the chemistry is suddenly clicking at the perfect time.
A Team Nobody Wants to Face
What once looked like a rebuilding roster is quickly becoming one of the league’s most exciting young cores.
If the Hornets continue playing like this, they won’t just be a feel-good story — they’ll be a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference.
And right now, one thing is clear:
The Hornets aren’t just winning.
They’re blowing teams off the floor.
