No. 1 Duke HUMILIATES NC State to Clinch ACC Crown

There are statement wins — and then there’s what No. 1 Duke just did in Raleigh.

On a night where the stakes were clear and the hostile environment was real, the Blue Devils didn’t just beat NC State — they dismantled them. Duke walked into PNC Arena and walked out with a 93–64 victory, clinching the outright ACC regular-season title in the process. It wasn’t competitive. It wasn’t dramatic. It was domination.

And at the center of it all? Freshman phenom Cameron Boozer.

Boozer was as close to flawless as you’ll see in a conference-clinching road performance. The star forward poured in 26 points on an ultra-efficient 8-of-10 shooting from the field and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line. He added nine rebounds, four assists, and controlled the tempo from the opening tip. Every time NC State tried to muster any sort of run, Boozer calmly answered.

This wasn’t empty scoring either. He was surgical. Post touches? Automatic. Face-up jumpers? Smooth. Drawing contact and living at the line? Veteran stuff. For a freshman to look that poised in a rivalry road game says everything about Duke’s ceiling in March.

But this wasn’t just a one-man show.

Duke shot a blistering 55% from the field and 39% from three, carving up the Wolfpack defense possession after possession. Dame Sarr added 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting and knocked down three triples. Isaiah Evans was lethal from deep, hitting 4-of-8 from beyond the arc for 12 points. Patrick Ngongba II chipped in 11 points and five boards, giving Duke consistent interior presence.

The ball movement was crisp — 21 assists on 32 made baskets — and the Blue Devils took care of it with just seven turnovers. They also owned the glass, outrebounding NC State 43–32 and turning defensive stops into transition opportunities that sucked the life out of the building.

By halftime, it was already tilting heavily in Duke’s favor. By the second half, it was over.

NC State simply had no answers. The Wolfpack shot just 35% from the field and 24% from three. Leading scorer Darrion Williams needed 17 shots to get his 17 points. Quadir Copeland had 11, but Duke’s length and physicality made every touch difficult. The Wolfpack managed just 12 assists and were overwhelmed by Duke’s size, depth, and pace.

The most telling stat? Win probability hit 100% for Duke late in the second half. That’s how lopsided this became.

For Duke, this win wasn’t just about beating a rival — it was about sending a message. At 28–2 overall and 16–1 in ACC play, the Blue Devils have separated themselves not just in the conference, but nationally. They look like a team built for six straight wins in March.

And Cameron Boozer looks like a future No. 1 overall pick who is already playing like a seasoned pro.

In a hostile road environment with a title on the line, Duke didn’t blink. They didn’t hesitate. They dominated.

If this is what they look like in early March, the rest of the country should be on notice.
