New York Knicks snap Spurs’ 11-game winning streak with dominant win

The New York Knicks didn’t just beat one of the hottest teams in basketball — they overwhelmed them. Behind a balanced offensive attack and suffocating defense, the Knicks rolled past the San Antonio Spurs 114–89 on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden, snapping San Antonio’s 11-game winning streak in emphatic fashion.

This wasn’t a close call. It was a statement.

Bridges and Brunson lead the charge

Mikal Bridges led the way with 25 points, continuing his outstanding season as one of New York’s most reliable scorers. Bridges was efficient all afternoon, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers while also contributing defensively.

Right alongside him was Jalen Brunson, who added 24 points and controlled the tempo of the game from start to finish. Brunson’s playmaking and leadership ensured the Knicks never lost control once they built their lead.

The Knicks’ balance made them nearly impossible to guard. Multiple players contributed across the board, including strong rebounding and bench production that helped extend the lead throughout the second half.

Knicks dominate inside and on the glass

New York’s physicality proved to be a major difference.

They outrebounded San Antonio 54–41, with Karl-Anthony Towns grabbing 14 rebounds and helping control the interior. The Knicks consistently won second-chance opportunities and limited the Spurs’ ability to build any sustained momentum.

Their defensive effort was just as impressive.

San Antonio shot only 42% from the field and struggled from three-point range, hitting just 26% of their attempts. Meanwhile, the Knicks shot an efficient 44% overall and knocked down 17 three-pointers, stretching the Spurs’ defense all afternoon.

Wembanyama fights, but Spurs overwhelmed

Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 25 points and 13 rebounds, continuing his dominant individual form. But despite his strong performance, San Antonio couldn’t match New York’s depth or defensive intensity.

San Antonio also struggled with turnovers, committing 22, which repeatedly gave the Knicks easy scoring opportunities and prevented any real comeback attempt.

After entering the game as one of the NBA’s hottest teams, the Spurs simply had no answer for New York’s energy.

Second half turns into a runaway

The game remained competitive early, but the Knicks took complete control after halftime.

Their defense tightened.

Their shots started falling.

And the lead kept growing.

By the fourth quarter, the result was no longer in doubt.

New York outscored San Antonio 34–20 in the final period, turning a comfortable lead into a blowout and sending a clear message to the rest of the league.

Statement win for surging Knicks

With the victory, the Knicks improve to 39–22 and continue to establish themselves as one of the Eastern Conference’s most dangerous teams.

More importantly, they proved they can dominate elite competition.

San Antonio came in red hot, riding an 11-game winning streak and playing with confidence.

The Knicks ended that streak decisively.

If this performance was any indication, New York isn’t just winning games.

They’re making statements.
