VADO, N.M. — Aaron Reutzel continued his strong start to the 2026 season Tuesday night, delivering a dominant performance to capture his second victory of the year in A-main competition at Vado Speedway Park.
Reutzel entered the event with momentum after earning his first win of the season two weeks ago in Las Vegas. Through the opening seven races, he had already built a consistent resume, recording four top-five finishes and five top-10s while qualifying for each feature. Despite that consistency, he came into the night sitting 34 points behind the championship lead.
Starting third in the A-main, Reutzel faced an early challenge at the drop of the green flag. A slow initial launch caused him to briefly fall back to fourth, but he quickly recovered, charging forward to take control of the race and lead the opening lap.
From there, Reutzel proved untouchable. An early battle with Brent Marks briefly challenged his lead, but once he settled into a rhythm, he began to pull away from the field. Maintaining a consistent pace and navigating traffic effectively, Reutzel led all 30 laps without relinquishing the top position.
The victory marks Reutzel’s second of the season and further solidifies his status as a championship contender. With the win, he now moves up to second in the standings, cutting the deficit to just 16 points behind points leader Tanner Thorson.
As the season continues, Reutzel’s combination of consistency and race-winning speed has made him one of the drivers to watch, and Tuesday night’s performance only reinforces his ability to capitalize when it matters most.
