Hockey fans were treated to an unforgettable moment during the NHL Stadium Series matchup between the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa when Jeremy Swayman and Andrei Vasilevskiy dropped the gloves in a rare outdoor goalie fight.
The sequence was triggered after Swayman confronted Lightning forward Brandon Hagel following a heated net-front scrum. As tensions escalated, Vasilevskiy skated down from the opposite end of the ice, met Swayman at center ice, and the two goaltenders dropped the mitts.
Swayman and Vasilevskiy exchanged punches before officials stepped in to break it up, sending the outdoor crowd into a frenzy. Goalie fights are already rare in today’s NHL, and seeing one unfold on a Stadium Series stage made the moment even more memorable.
