Myles Garrett has officially been named the 2025 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and the vote left no doubt.
The Cleveland Browns defensive end received all 50 votes, making him a unanimous winner. That means every voter agreed he was the best defensive player in the league this season.
Garrett had a historic year. He recorded 23 sacks, which broke the NFL single-season sack record. Quarterbacks had little time to throw when he was on the field, and offenses were forced to double-team or game-plan around him every week.
This award is the second Defensive Player of the Year honor of his career, showing his consistency and dominance over multiple seasons. Beyond the sack numbers, Garrett also led the league in pressures, disrupted countless plays, and was the clear leader of one of the NFL’s toughest defenses.
Simply put, this was one of the most dominant defensive seasons the league has ever seen.
