Miami (OH) Rallies Again to Stay Undefeated at 29–0

Perfection doesn’t come easy. It demands resilience, belief, and the ability to win even when everything feels like it’s slipping away. That’s exactly what the No. 21 Miami (OH) RedHawks men’s basketball showed once again, rallying past the Western Michigan Broncos men’s basketball to remain undefeated and improve to a historic 29–0.

This wasn’t just another win. This was survival.

For stretches of the game, Western Michigan looked ready to deliver the upset that would shake college basketball. They attacked confidently, hit timely shots, and forced Miami (OH) into uncomfortable possessions. But undefeated teams don’t panic — they respond.

And Miami did exactly that.

Trailing late, the RedHawks leaned on their composure and star power to flip the game. Peter Suder led the charge with 18 points on an efficient 7-of-13 shooting night, consistently finding ways to score when Miami desperately needed offense. His ability to attack the rim and convert in traffic kept the RedHawks within striking distance.

Almar Atlason provided the spark that helped ignite the comeback, finishing with 16 points while knocking down three clutch three-pointers. His shot-making helped shift momentum at a critical point in the second half, forcing Western Michigan’s defense to stretch and opening driving lanes for others.

Trey Perry added 14 points, playing with poise and control, while Eian Elmer contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Miami’s offensive balance proved to be the difference, as multiple players stepped up when the pressure reached its peak.

Despite shooting just 27% from three-point range and 60% from the free throw line, Miami found another way to win. That’s what great teams do — they win ugly when necessary.

Defensively, the RedHawks delivered when it mattered most. They forced key stops late and prevented Western Michigan from delivering the knockout blow. Even when momentum wasn’t on their side, Miami never lost belief.

That belief has defined this entire season.

At 29–0, Miami (OH) is no longer just a good story — they are one of the most remarkable teams in the country. Every opponent now brings their best shot, desperate to be the team that ends perfection. Yet game after game, the RedHawks keep finding answers.

This team has something special. It’s not just talent. It’s toughness.

They’ve won close games. They’ve come back from deficits. They’ve handled pressure.

And now, history is within reach.

An undefeated regular season — something rarely seen in modern college basketball — is suddenly very real. With each win, the pressure grows. The expectations rise. The spotlight intensifies.

But so far, none of it has been enough to break Miami (OH).

Twenty-nine games.

Twenty-nine wins.

Zero losses.

And still standing.
