After a defining Week 11, the two top-tier undefeateds delivered strong performances in their rivalry games, while several contenders dropped out of the picture. With just two weeks left in the regular season, the top four teams control their own destiny for a trip to Atlanta.

  2. Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1, 6-0 Conference) In a classic defensive battle, the Tide defeated LSU 20-9 to keep their perfect conference record intact. Ty Simpson managed the game well, and the defense was suffocating. They are one of the most balanced teams in the country. Next Week: vs. #12 Oklahoma (Saturday, 3:30 PM ET, ABC)

Tier 2: Fighting for the Second Spot in the SEC Championship Game

  1. Georgia Bulldogs (8-1, 6-1 Conference) The Bulldogs handled Mississippi State 41-21, keeping their conference championship hopes alive. Their only loss is to Alabama, meaning they need help to pass the Tide, but they are firmly positioned for a top-six CFP ranking. Next Week: vs. #11 Texas (Saturday, 7:30 PM ET, ABC)

  1. Vanderbilt Commodores (8-2, 4-2 Conference) Vandy continues to win! They survived a shootout against Auburn, 45-38, securing their eighth win of the season. They are one of the best stories in college football, and the eight wins guarantees them a fantastic bowl game. Next Week: BYE
