Week 7 saw the downfall of two undefeated teams—Iowa State and Arizona—while a massive rivalry showdown completely reshuffled the middle of the pack. We now have two clear, undefeated leaders, but a pack of 2-loss teams remains firmly in the conference title hunt.

Week 8 Big 12 Power Rankings

  1. Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-0, 3-0 B12) The Red Raiders crushed Kansas 42-17 to remain perfect overall and in league play. With a potent offense and a rapidly improving defense, Texas Tech is built like a contender and is now the most complete team in the Big 12. Next Week: at #21 Arizona State
  2. BYU Cougars (6-0, 3-0 B12) The Cougars survived a nail-biter against rival Arizona, 31-28, to stay undefeated. While the margin was too close for comfort, winning ugly is the BYU way. Their 3-0 league record keeps them squarely in the hunt for the Big 12 Championship. Next Week: vs. #23 Utah
  3. Cincinnati Bearcats (5-2, 3-0 B12) Three conference games, three wins for the Bearcats. They suffocated UCF 20-11 on the road and are the last remaining 3-0 team alongside BYU and Texas Tech. Cincinnati is proving to be the real deal under Coach Satterfield. Next Week: vs. UCF
