The NFC saw some of its elite teams challenged and a few bottom-dwellers deliver huge statement wins in Week 3. We have three undefeated teams still standing, but the separation between them and the middle of the pack is shrinking fast. Here’s how the NFC stacks up heading into Week 4.
The Rankings
1) Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) They remain the top team in the NFC, but it wasn’t easy. The Eagles mounted a massive fourth-quarter comeback to defeat the Rams, 33-26. Even when they struggle, the Eagles find a way to win, showing the “clutch gene” Jalen Hurts mentioned after the game. Next Week: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2) San Francisco 49ers (3-0) The 49ers continued their undefeated start with a nail-biting, defensive victory over the Cardinals, 16-15. While not as dominant as some expected, winning at all without Brock Purdy, Nick Bosa and Jauan Jennings is impressive. Next Week: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
3) Detroit Lions (2-1) The Lions roared into Baltimore and took down the Ravens, 38-30, on Monday night. This was a statement win, as they beat a perennial AFC contender on their home field, and they look to have found their stride after losing both coordinators in the offseason. Next Week: vs. Cleveland Browns
4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) Baker Mayfield has this offense humming. The Buccaneers stayed perfect with a thrilling 29-27 win over the Jets. They are winning with smart defense and clutch offense, and their stock continues to rise. Next Week: vs. Philadelphia Eagles

5) Los Angeles Rams (2-1) It was a painful loss, blowing a huge lead against the Eagles, but the Rams still played high-level football for most of the game. They look explosive on offense and are still a major threat in the NFC West. Next Week: vs. Indianapolis Colts
6) Washington Commanders (2-1) The Commanders’ offense has been surprisingly potent. They took care of business at home against the Raiders, even without Jayden Daniels, winning 41-24, showing great balance and production across the board. Next Week: at Atlanta Falcons
7) Green Bay Packers (2-1) A tough loss to the Browns, 13-10, drops the Packers, but their defense continues to be an elite unit. Next Week: at Dallas Cowboys
8) Minnesota Vikings (2-1) Wins against the Bears and Bengals sandwiched around an inexplicable loss to the Falcons. Next Week: Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland
9) Seattle Seahawks (2-1) The Seahawks delivered a resounding victory over the struggling Saints, 44-13. Their offense and defense clicked, giving them a much-needed boost going into a division matchup with the Cardinals. Next Week: at Arizona Cardinals (Thursday Night Football)
10) Arizona Cardinals (2-1) A one-point loss to the depleted 49ers, 16-15, shows the Cardinals are competitive but haven’t learned how to close. The offense isn’t clicking yet, but their defense is keeping them competitive. Next Week: vs. Seattle Seahawks (Thursday Night Football)
11) Chicago Bears (1-2) The Bears provided the NFC’s biggest shocker, dominating the Cowboys 31-14. Their young offense, led by Caleb Williams, showed major potential and proved they can compete. Next Week: at Las Vegas Raiders

12) Carolina Panthers (1-2) The most surprising result in the NFL last week was the Panthers’ shutout victory over the Falcons, securing their first victory and giving Panthers’ fans some hope for the future. Next Week: at New England Patriots
13) Dallas Cowboys (1-2) Two early losses—including a shocking 31-14 defeat to the Bears—have the Cowboys reeling. They need to find consistency quickly, especially on defense, before their season gets away from them. Next Week: vs. Green Bay Packers
14) Atlanta Falcons (1-2) A 30-0 shutout loss to the Panthers was completely unexpected after the Falcons’ win at Minnesota. Their offense looked completely lost, and Michael Penix was benched for Kirk Cousins. Next Week: vs. Washington Commanders
15) New Orleans Saints (0-3) The Saints are struggling on both sides of the ball, suffering a major blowout loss to the Seahawks, 44-13. Finding a way to compete consistently is the top priority. Next Week: at Buffalo Bills
16) New York Giants (0-3) The Giants remain winless after a 22-9 loss to the Chiefs. Their early season struggles suggest a long year ahead. Maybe switching to rookie QB Jaxson Dart can jumpstart the offense. Next Week: vs. Los Angeles Chargers
