Big 12 Football Power Rankings

  1. Iowa State The Cyclones are the only undefeated team with a 4-0 record, including a victory over rival Iowa. Despite a closer than expected win over Arkansas State, they are the clear frontrunner in the conference at this point.
  2. Utah The Utes have looked impressive with a 3-0 record and a big road win against a Big Ten opponent. Their defense has been a major factor in their success.
  3. Texas Tech Texas Tech is off to a strong start at 3-0 and has shown a formidable offense. They are a legitimate contender in the conference.
  4. Houston The Cougars are 3-0 with a solid defense and a key conference win over Colorado. They are exceeding expectations early on.
  5. BYU BYU’s defense has been stellar, and they’ve shown they can win even with a young quarterback. They have proven themselves worthy of a top spot in the league.
  6. Arizona Arizona is also 3-0 and has a conference victory over Kansas State. They’ve looked sharp under their new quarterback, Noah Fifita.
  7. TCU TCU has been a pleasant surprise with a 2-0 record and a solid win against Abilene Christian. Their talent and coaching have them poised for a good season.
  8. Baylor The Bears have a 2-1 record and cruised against Samford.
  9. Cincinnati The Bearcats are 2-1 and secured an easy 70-0 win against Northwestern State.

  12. West Virginia After a tough loss in Week 2, West Virginia rebounded with a rivalry win in overtime against Pitt in the Backyard Brawl. There are lots of smiles this week in Morgantown.
  13. UCF The Knights have started with a 2-0 record, but no one really knows if they are any good. We will find out this week when they host UNC.

  15. Oklahoma State The Cowboys have struggled with a 1-1 record and a significant loss to Oregon. They sit at the bottom of the conference rankings for now.
  16. Kansas State Kansas State is the most disappointing team in the conference with a 1-3 record, including a conference loss last week to Arizona.
