Kyle Larson Makes Triumphant Return to Victory Lane

On Wednesday, Kyle Larson showcased his dirt racing prowess by clinching victory on Night 1 of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota. The event, part of the Huset’s Hustle leading into the BillionAuto.com High Bank Nationals, saw Larson bank a $20,000 prize in a thrilling 35-lap feature race.

Larson, driving the #57 for Silva Motorsports, started the night strong, posting the second-fastest qualifying time. Despite a challenging sixth-to-third run in his heat race, he lined up fourth for the main event. The Elk Grove, California native methodically worked his way through the field, capitalizing on a late-race opportunity to execute a perfect slider on Rico Abreu with seven laps remaining. Larson’s strategic pacing behind Abreu allowed him to exploit traffic, sealing the win with a commanding lead over Spencer Bayston, who finished second.

This victory marked Larson’s fourth World of Outlaws win of 2025 in just seven starts, underscoring his efficiency with a 22% win rate in 130 career series starts. It was also his second triumph at Huset’s in five attempts, a track that had previously challenged him with a flip in 2020 and a tire failure in another race. Larson’s 443 points on the night gave him a significant advantage in the points standings, crucial for positioning in Saturday’s $250,000-to-win finale.

The race, witnessed by a packed crowd, highlighted Larson’s ability to navigate the high-banked 1/3-mile oval’s tricky conditions. He credited track owner Tod Quiring for the event’s prestige and praised his crew, led by Paul Silva, for their preparation. Despite a close challenge from David Gravel on the final lap, Larson’s composure ensured his 29th career World of Outlaws victory, tying him for 23rd on the all-time win list.

Larson’s win sets the stage for an exciting week at Huset’s, with Thursday’s $100,000-to-win Huset’s Hustle finale and the High Bank Nationals looming. His performance reaffirmed why “Yung Money” remains a fan favorite and a dominant force in sprint car racing.
