George Russell Trolls Rival Max Verstappen

Sunday, Formula 1 will take to the streets of Montreal for the Montreal Grand Prix in Canada. Mercedes driver George Russell will lead the field to green after taking pole position in qualifying on Saturday, edging out Max Verstappen (1:10.899 to 1:11.059) in the third stint.

Russell, who had a bit of an on-track incident at the end of the last race in Barcelona with Verstappen, spoke to the media on Saturday before the big race.

“I have got a few more points in my license to play with so let’s see.”

Russell, 27, took a playful shot at Verstappen, when asked if he would mess with the four-time defending world champion.

Verstappen is just one point on his super license away from a suspension, with speculation around the paddock that rival drivers may try to bait the aggressive Dutchman into a penalty on Sunday.

In case you missed it, the uber agressive Verstappen plowed into George Russell at Barcelona after releasing frustrations.

The FIA issued a time penalty to the Red Bull Racing driver, who fell from the Top 5 to nearly missing points in P10.

Verstappen is known to be ‘checkers or wreckers,’ similar to Kyle Larson in the NASCAR Cup Series, signaling the urge to win at all costs.

Verstappen’s controversial driving style is a live and die by the sword moment, as it seems to gain him fans, while making plenty of enemies.
