Champs Annihilated! Arkansas Makes a Statement

OMAHA, Neb. — The 2025 Men’s College World Series picture sharpened on Sunday, June 8, as the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals served up big wins and gut punches. Three teams— Arkansas, UCLA, and Louisville—locked in their Omaha spots, while two series are headed to high-stakes Game 3s on Monday. The Charles Schwab Field is ready to rumble, but a few teams are still battling for a ticket.

No. 3 Arkansas obliterated No. 14 Tennessee 11-4 in Fayetteville, sweeping their Super Regional with home runs from Charles Davalan and Logan Maxwell. The Razorbacks’ offense was a buzzsaw, and their pitching left Tennessee’s bats looking lost. Better luck next year, Vols. No. 15 UCLA was just as dominant, shutting out UTSA 7-0 in Los Angeles for a sweep. The Bruins’ pitchers were untouchable, making the Roadrunners’ lineup seem like it forgot how to hit. Louisville, meanwhile, survived a nail-biter, topping Miami 3-2 in a Game 3 classic, thanks to Jake Ogden’s three-run shot and Daniel Cuvet’s late homer. Miami’s offense fizzled at the worst time—tough one, Hurricanes.

Monday’s Game 3s are all-or-nothing. In Durham, Murray State torched Duke 19-9 on Sunday, forcing a decisive game at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). The Racers’ 17-hit explosion, per @d1baseball on X, made Duke’s defense look like it was fielding with flip-flops. The winner earns an Omaha berth. In Baton Rouge, No. 6 LSU leads West Virginia 1-0, with Game 2 unresolved Sunday night. A potential Game 3 is slated for 8 p.m. ET Monday (ESPN). LSU’s 16-9 Game 1 thrashing showed their muscle, but West Virginia’s pesky Mountaineers are still in the fight.

As of Sunday, Omaha’s field is loaded: No. 3 Arkansas, No. 15 UCLA, Louisville, No. 13 Coastal Carolina (who swept Auburn Saturday), and Arizona (who edged No. 5 North Carolina 4-3 in Game 3). Coastal’s 23-game win streak is a juggernaut, and Arizona’s clutch hits, like Mason White’s two-run single, scream big-game vibes. Oregon State, leading No. 9 Florida State 1-0, could clinch Sunday night (9 p.m. ET, ESPN2). Murray State or Duke, and LSU or West Virginia, will complete the eight-team bracket.

The College World Series, kicking off June 13, promises chaos. Arkansas and UCLA boast deep pitching, Louisville and Arizona live for drama, and Coastal Carolina’s streak is downright scary. Monday’s winners—Duke’s polish, or Murray State’s fairy tale—will add fuel. Omaha’s in for a wild ride, so grab your popcorn, baseball fans.

Now, let’s recap the NBA Finals.
