The NFL’s Top Teams for Week 13

Bob Donnan/Imagn

As Week 13 of the NFL season kicks off, teams are fighting tooth and nail to secure their playoff spots. Some squads are surging at the right time, while others are stumbling under the weight of expectations. This week’s power rankings sort out the contenders from the pretenders in a league full of surprises.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ken Blaze/Imagn

On number 10, we have the Steelers. After their wins against the Commanders and the Ravens, the team was humbled when they lost against the Browns. The Steelers have a good defense, and it’ll be good to see them work harder with that and show more consistency.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Pedota/Imagn

Up two spots this week are the Buccaneers. Mike Evas saved the day with a win against the New York Giants. However, we can’t ignore Baker Mayfield throwing a whopping 300 yards. This team now ranks at number 9 with a record of 5-6-0.

Minnesota Vikings

Mike Dinovo/Imagn

While everyone thought that JJ McCarthy would end up being the saving grace for the Vikings, it was Sam Darnold who took that spot. An experienced player, Darnold ended the game with 330 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Bears. Now, the team sits at spot 8.

San Francisco 49ers

Tork Mason/Imagn

The 49ers haven’t had the best week since they’re down two spots at number 7 this week. After losing to the Packers last week, the 49ers have also lost quarterback Brock Purdy and left tackle Trent Williams to injuries. However, some serious defense work is also required.

Kansas City Chiefs

Jim Dedmon/Imagn

Last year’s Super Bowl champions seem to have gotten back on track after their first loss of the season. Start QB Patrick Mahomes helped the team last week with a close win at Carolina, and they’re now at 10-1-0 at the number 6 spot.

Philadelphia Eagles

Gary A. Vasquez/Imagn

Number 5 goes to the Eagles. As Barkley broke a franchise record with 255 rushing yards against the Rams in Week 12, he had a night to remember. His electrifying performance included over 300 yards, two touchdowns, and an impressive average of nearly 10 yards per carry.

Green Bay Packers

Jeff Hanisch/Imagn

The Packers have secured themselves the 4th power ranking spot in Week 13. RB Josh Jacobs shined on Sunday against the 49ers, scoring three touchdowns. While the win against the 49ers may have been easy, the team still has had a strong season so far, with an 8-3-0 standing.

Buffalo Bills

Tina MacIntyre-Yee/Imagn

Breaking the Chiefs’ winning streak are the Bills. It is clear that QB Josh Allen has the makings of an MVP candidate after his stunning performance against the Chiefs. It’s important to note that the team hasn’t lost a single game since Week 5 and now has the number 3 spot.

Baltimore Ravens

Kirby Lee/Imagn

Everyone was excited to see the Harbaugh brothers go against each other last week. However, John Harbaugh took the cake with the Ravens’ crazy defense in the second half of the game and took the team to the number 2 spot and an 8-4-0 standing.

Detroit Lions

Junfu Han/Imagn

The Lions are giving the Chiefs solid competition. In fact, the Lions are the best they have ever been since the franchise was formed. Like the Chiefs, they are 10-1-0. For now, the Lions can enjoy the number-one spot with no touchdowns from the other teams.
